BE SURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD -- BE SURE TO RETURN YOUR SURVEY CARD

Also discussed at the County Commission meeting was the "straw poll" survey.  PLEASE RETURN YOUR SURVEY CARD (SENT TO YOU IN THE RECENT PROPERTY OWNERS' BROCHURE MAILING) IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO OR COMPLETE IT ONLINE.  Although nonresident property owners will not vote in the traditional sense, the commissioners reiterated that they would give weight to the results of the survey.  Among the quotes appearing in the article in this week's Star were:

"The straw ballot is what I want to see," said Commisioner Nathan Peters.  "Their voting rights are limited, but their voice isn't," said Commissioner Bill Williams.
